SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Premise Networks, Inc. is committed to providing the best possible working conditions for all its employees. To accomplish this, the company shall comply with all current occupational health, safety, and environmental laws. The company shall develop the operations, procedures, technologies, and policies needed to provide such conditions.

The Premise Networks, Inc. policy is aimed at preventing any employee, visitor, customer, or person residing or working near company facilities from being subjected to any avoidable health or safety risk.

The company shall base its practices on the principle of least acceptable risk as defined and accepted by the public.

The company shall establish comprehensive and realistic policies based on past experience and current research to prevent unreasonable health and safety risks.

To fulfill these goals the company shall:

  • Designate a safety coordinator to develop and administer, in cooperation with the President and the Secretary/Treasurer, safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing programs at all levels to identify employee health and safety risks.
  • The company shall see to it that all employees clearly understand all facets of company health and safety programs that directly affect them and their duties.
  • Make control and elimination of such risks a top priority in all company financial and business plans and budgets. The company shall provide the necessary funds to implement health and safety programs.
  • Control or reduce employee exposure to all known or clearly suspected occupational health and safety risks and attempt to lower exposure levels as quickly as government regulations, technology, and economic feasibility allow.
  • Voice company positions on occupational health and safety concerns as they affect the company and its employees.
  • Recognize that despite every effort the company makes, the basic responsibility for employee health and safety rests with the individual.
OSHA AND EPA COMPLIANCE

Premise Networks, Inc. shall comply with all OSHA and EPA requirements. Because these rules and regulations are so extensive, each employee, foreman, and supervisor is strongly advised to consult with appropriate company health or safety officials when there is the slightest question.

Company health and safety officials are responsible for conducting periodic OSHA compliance reviews (spot checks) of the company.

The company will cooperate with all reasonable OSHA and EPA inspections and compliance reviews. The Project Manager and the company's on site competent person will be present at such inspections or reviews. Larry Holt, Secretary/Treasurer, and/or Earl Pickard, Safety Coordinator, will also be present, when feasibly possible.

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION

Premise Networks, Inc. shall comply with the workers' compensation laws of the State of North Carolina, in which it maintains its' facility and states in which it currently has contracts.

Premise Networks, Inc will administer workers' compensation claims and payments in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

The company shall also strive to reduce workers' compensation claims by striving to reduce health and safety risks. The status of an employee shall not be affected by the filing of a workers' compensation claim. No job applicant shall be rejected solely for having applied for and received workers' compensation payments.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS

Premise Networks, Inc. shall closely follow the provisions of various environmental regulations as they relate to occupational health and safety.

The company shall make every effort to prevent the development of harmful environmental conditions. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available for employees to read and are located in the Project Manager's office with the master copies maintained in the corporate offices.

SAFETY PROGRAMS

Premise Networks, Inc. shall establish and maintain the best practical safety programs under the authority of a safety coordinator. While safety is the direct responsibility of each employee, the company shall designate a safety coordinator whose responsibility is the development and implementation of safety programs. These programs shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Quarterly employee meetings to include safety training and/or safety film.
  • Daily evaluations by a designated competent person at the jobsite to gauge levels of compliance and housekeeping.
  • Quarterly spot checks to simulate OSHA or other governmental inspections and to promote employee interest in appropriate safety and health practices.
COMPANY PROPERTY

Each employee is responsible for the safe operation of all company tools, equipment, machinery, vehicles, and other company property in his or her charge.

The company shall provide for proper care and maintenance of company property, but each employee should report any malfunction of company property to his or her immediate supervisor. The supervisor shall investigate and take the necessary steps to correct the malfunction as soon as possible.

In cases of serious malfunction, where employees are endangered or company operations threatened, employees are not required to jeopardize their personal safety, but should immediately warn their fellow employees, foremen, supervisors, and anyone else affected by the situation.
