Inside Plant and Electrical
Part of the Premise Networks turn key service offering is the Inside
Plant and Electrical Group. This group is comprised
of highly experienced professionals trained and certified in inside copper
and
fiber optic LAN
cabling and connectivity as well as licensed and experienced
electricians. Typically working in two man crews, one LAN specialist and
one electrician,
these teams install cable plants, wiring centers, power
and grounding systems to support the most sophisticated network build outs.
This group
also performs inside plant and outside plant copper
and fiber optic splicing, terminating and testing to ensure our networks
adhere
to the most stringent
industry standards.
Industry Standards
Installing to industry standards is a large part of this group’s
responsibilities. PNI crews are constantly implementing voice, data and
video network solutions based on requirements and recommendations from
organizations such as EIA/TIA, BICSI, IEEE and the National Electrical
Code committees. Efforts are always made to ensure compliance with local
codes and ordinances.
Physical Testing
PNI installation teams use the latest technology to test our installed
cable plants. Each copper cable and strand of fiber optic cable is tested
to ensure we are delivering the highest possible performance to our customers.
Optical Time Domain Reflectometers, bi-directional optical power meters,
Category 5e and Category 6 copper certification sets and ground testers
by companies such as GNNTEST, Corning Cable Systems, Fluke and Megger
are constantly checked for accuracy and are factory calibrated on the
manufactures suggested schedules.
Cable plant testing in existing networks is also available to assist
in identifying any deficiencies in those networks.
Documentation
One of the most important parts of any installation is the labeling and
documentation that provides ease of ongoing support and maintenance after
the initial installation. Our teams provide labeling to recommended standards
for all cables, racks, cabinets, patch panels, fiber jumpers, copper patch
cables and grounds, Our typical final documentation packages include as
built AutoCAD building and campus drawings, logical connectivity drawings,
spreadsheets with equipment serial numbers and deployment locations and
complete copper and fiber optic test results. All documentation is provided
in hardcopy and digital media format.
Equipment Deployment and Cutovers
Our teams are proficient at deploying network equipment for large installations.
We have deployed networks with hundreds of data switches and multiple
network node layer 2 routers. In conjunction with our network engineering
group, the inside group has cutover thousands of end users to our new
networks with minimum scheduled down time. All mission critical facilities
are identified during the development of the cutover schedule. These facilities
are scheduled and cutover with a high degree of coordination with the
end users
